When it rains, it pours

When it rains, it pours

With the arrival of my little boy Jonah, I felt my acting career slipping away. In my head, my priorities were forced to shift.  Number one was providing for my family which meant refocusing and knuckling down on my day job and selling more.  Over the last few months its felt like my soul was slowly dying, I could feel that I was not living my truth.  I had no acting projects on the go and felt that my career was slowly slipping away.

It always feels like my life goes up massive highs and deep lows, I’m not sure if this is a sign of depression, but I should check it out.

Things started to change a last week  when a Sydney based casting consultancy contacted my agent and requested me to audition for a minor role in a feature film being filmed in WA.  I auditioned and am waiting for a response.

The next day I receive five scripts to be filmed on the 30th November for web series “Spencers Reviews”. I had forgotten about this project.

I then receive an email forwarded from my agent.  It was from the Film & Television Institute (FTI) requesting me and a number of other actors to read for their December PAC Script Lab.  This is going to be a pretty big event because it’s the first Script Lab at FTI.  The script is called Kanowna, Place of No Sleep written by Chris Richards-Scully.  If you would like to find out more information on this event, click here.

So as the title says, when it rains it pours.  Positive things are happening for me and it feels like my spirit guides are lining up the balls for me.  All I need to do is take every opportunity and kick some goals.

  1. Leon,

You’re an incredible person and yes life does always pass those highs and lows our way, but we must always stay focused on what you call “our truth”.
