This is a quote from the movie, “Six Degrees of Separation”. Personally I have never seen the movie myself but I like the quote. My motivation to write this is because of what happened last night. I was on facebook and I found an old primary school friend, actually, we may not have been friends but I suppose we may have spoken once in a while. Here is the interesting thing, 20+ years has gone by and I see this person and quickly jump into a conversation like we had been best friends for years, yet during school we may have spoken to each other a total of 1 hour.

Where am I getting at with all this? Well, I would like to have a chat with you about friendships, people and your network. I must say all my close school friendships are still there, but because of the stages of our lives we don’t speak much. On the other hand I make great friends regularly who are great people with different backgrounds and personalities. For some years now I was quite lonely, my old school friends and I were slowly drifting apart and I found it difficult to make new ones, my refuge was the Internet. At the age of 28 I joined a property investing group and suddenly found the true power of networking! These people had the same interests as me and I was finally making new friends!

TIP: If you are looking to make new friends/build your network, then join groups which have similar interests to you.

Here’s a question for you. How many of you really know about your existing friends? I mean really know about them? I’m aiming more at the guys with this one because we tend not to open up our feelings to anyone. I used to do it, but it was hard because my mates aren’t the open up type of blokes, but it is always good to try know your friends at a deeper level.

All these new people I meet, have a totally different history with different experiences in life and they are like the quote says, “a new door to a different world”. It interests me incredibly to hear about the experiences and life of another person, especially when I am walking the same path.

TIP: If you want to make new friends and want to build your the social skills, then read this book. How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie.

Success and Happiness!

…..and why do I say this? Well because of the freedom of choice! The free world has somehow overlooked the simply power of choice. 99% of humans in the world exercise their power of choice for the smaller things, such as

  • Which laundry detergent should I buy?
  • Krispy Kreme or Donut King? (I would choose Krispy Kreme)
  • Should I stick to beer tonight or go the spirits?

Now I’m not saying that these choices are in any way insignificant, I am saying that there is much more greater power in choice than we care to use. Here’s a really basic example for you, you wake up in the morning and are preparing to go to work. In a few quick seconds you can choose to be happy, excited and motivated to go to work to tackle the great challenges put in front of you or you can choose the attitude of depression because the work you do is tough and the days are so long. It’s incredible what that quick choice can do to your entire day.

Now think of all the people that choose this negative attitude everyday of their life. I am sure you have met these people, they lack motivation and everything always goes wrong for them. On the other hand I bet you have met excited and happy people always beaming happiness. Let me ask you who would you want to hang out with for a day? Now if you are the person that chooses the negative side of things, try choosing the positive side for a week and see what happens to your day and how people react to you. You will be amazed that the attitude you choose is what makes your day, week and life.

My life is incredible, I have a fantastic job, a beautiful and loving partner and my out look on life is incredibly happy and prosperous. Let me tell you now, I feel incredibly rich, not just in the sense of money but in all parts of my life. It’s the choices that I have made to make me feel this way. I hope you can take something out of this entry and try put it into your life. It will only take a few seconds of your life, but it can mean the rest of your life.

I am doing so many things and my life is pretty full on but I enjoy every second of it. Currently I am doing the 30 Day challenge with a great team of people. I would personally like to thank Ed Dale for his generosity in teaching us how to launch successful internet businesses for free. I am also researching to get my White Water Rafting Guiding certificate, this is so I can take adventurous people on wild adrenaline packed adventures on the white water. I have recently joined a fantastic mastermind group and we hope to support each other in building our businesses. I have one more thing that I am doing…. but that is a secret.

Till next time

I wish you abundance, success and happiness

I love the opera, its such a emotional form of entertainment, gives me shivers up my spine when I hear a tenor hit one of his notes and draws it out. Bocelli is my favourite singer, his voice is perfect and has such strong emotion within it. Here are a couple of my favourite songs from Bochelli, please take the time to watch them as they will bring out certain emotions that you didn’t know you had.

Nessun Dorma – Bocelli

The Prayer – Bocelli & Celine Dion

Time to Say Goodbye – Bocelli & Sarah Brightman

He has such a wonderful voice, I hope you enjoy his work as much as I do

Hello all

My name is Leon and I was a blog virgin. I have decided that it was time to break away and just do it. So here it is my first blog….what do I do with it? Well I suppose I should tell you a little about myself. I have been described as an adventurer of sorts, my interests include white water rafting, rock climbing, mountain biking, abseiling and much more. On the other hand I have a love for the opera (Bochelli & Pavarotti) and also R&B music (Boys 2 Men). I work as a sales person for a global media company selling one of its online products. I love the computers and the Internet and whilst I love the outdoors I also have a strong pull to sit on my butt and do computer stuff.

Oh yes not to forget, a major passion of mine is charity. I love to help people, I have a world vision sponsor child in Peru and her name is Yennifer, she is so cute. My goal is to one day visit Peru and help build/fund schools and community projects.
